This is a healthy approach to owning your happiness. Although I don't argue against the todo lists, I find that people often don't see their life past their TODOs because they're spending ALL their energy for checking boxes. And that is indeed extremely confining.

I personally write my mind every day using just a few words... nothing fancy... but it's through evening meditation when I checkin with myself.
I also noticed it feels better for me to start the week with one question (whether is work related, or personal stuff) and I intuitively choose to spend my energy that week on actions that will help me get my answers.
